If you are wondering what you should pack when traveling with a baby, this is the blog for you!!
For years Steve and I have always dreamed of taking our kids on vacation. That’s actually one of the ways we knew were ready! We were sitting on the beach in Mexico last year and we were like “yeah… I think we’re ready :)”. A year and a half later, little Dally boy has entered the chat and we could not be more excited to take him on his very first beach trip!
When is comes to packing and prepping for a trip, I am the planner of all planners (but once I’m there planning mode is turned off lol. Hand me a book and a marg and I’m all good). So when we started planning out our very first trip with a baby, you know I had to make sure we got all our bases covered! In this blog I will outline anything and everything that we packed for Dallas. This is the ultimate packing list of baby essentials without going overboard.
Below I outlined anything and everything we ended up packing. In the next blog I’ll write out a survival guide to bringing your baby on an airplane :) Let’s get into it:
Baby Travel Essentials - The Big Items
Carseat - we are actually just renting one through Hertz so we don’t have to travel with one! And then we will just have him sit on our lap for the airplane!
Baby Travel Essentials - Bath and Health Items
Diapers - You definitely don’t want to run out of diapers so make sure you bring plenty lol. We love these ones.
Wipes - We packed a travel size pack in our diaper bag and then a full pack of wipes in our luggage too.
Changing mat - It will be super convenient to have this with us everywhere we go during the trip
Baby Tylenol - Dallas is getting some teeth in so this is a must have
Nail clippers - Those baby nails grow quick!! So don’t want to forget this
Lotion - Change in climates can dry out babies skin so definitely bring some lotion!
Sunscreen - We are headed to the beach so gotta protect baby’s skin! Our Dr. Recommended this Blue Lizard brand.
Travel First-Aid Kit - Best to be prepared!
Inflatable Baby Tub - This inflatable tub is super easy to pack and will make bath time so much easier in the hotel.
Baby Travel Essentials - Meal Time Must-Haves
Bottle with Formula Dispenser - These are great because it’s a bottle and formula dispenser in one! So it’s one less thing to worry about grabbing out of your diaper bag and makes it easy to make a bottle with only one hand! .
Baby Food - We are bringing a mini cooler with ice to keep the food chilled during travel.
Bottle Cleaner Brush Set - This one is super compact and great for travel
Soap for Bottles - These are great travel sized bottle cleaners
HIPP Formula - A necessity! Be sure to check how many servings you will need during your trip so you bring enough!
Formula Dispenser - We are also bringing these so we don’t have to bring our full tubs of formula everywhere we go.
Travel High Chair - Dallas is starting to eat solids, so having a chair is super helpful for meal time.
Baby Travel Essentials - Sleep and Play
Pack n play sheets - We just got these ones on Amazon!
Sound machine - This is the sound machine we use at home and I love that it is portable so we can bring it in the car, to dinner, etc. if needed.
Backseat mirror - Dallas used to hate the car, but once we started using this mirror he loves it!
Dreamland Sleep Sack - This is Dallas’ FAVORITE sleep sack, it puts him right to sleep and is more compact than the Merlin Magic suite so easier to travel with! Use code TAYCHAYY for 20% off your purchase!
Baby monitor - You’ll want to be sure and bring one with a physical monitor (vs you phone) so you don’t have to worry about wifi!
Baby Carrier - The Artipoppe is my very favorite carrier. It’s pricey, but the back support is unmatched which is so necessary for travel since we will be walking around ALOT!
Blankets - Bring babies favorite blankets so they have a piece of home to comfort them at bed time.
Baby Travel Essentials - Clothing
Onesies - Our favorite onesies are from Seny Kids. They are incredibly soft and lightweight which will be perfect for hot Florida weather.
Outfits For Each Day - If you have a baby you’ll want to bring multiple outfits for each day just incase spit-up/blowouts happen lol. Our favorite places to get cute baby clothes are Axel & Rose (code TAYCHAYY for 10% off) and Aziel and Luca!!
Swim Diapers - If you will be at the pool/beach of course
Bucket Hat - We always keep a hat on Dallas at the pool/beach to protect him from the sun!
Swim Suit - I love these onesie swim suits for Dallas because they are soooo easy to get on and off versus putting a top AND a bottom on.
Socks - The socks you always see Dallas in!
That’s everything!! I think this is really the ultimate packing list for traveling with your baby without going overboard or bringing too much! Be sure to pin this blog (pin the main image below the title), so you can save it for later and reference it when you are packing for your own trip! And be sure to look out for next week’s blog where I will be outlining everything you need to know about flying with your baby (what to bring, how to keep them happy, etc.)!
Until then!!
XOXO, TAY
